Designated Body (DeBo) in Austria
for all notified national technical rules
In order to be able to guarantee and further expand high-quality rail traffic within the European Union, the member states, in coordination with the European Union, rely on the best possible compatibility between infrastructure network and operating vehicles. Performance level, safety and quality of the railway system, as well as its costs, depend on this compatibility (interoperability).
National rules which are not covered by the „Technical specifications of interoperability“ (TSI) and are therefore excluded of assessment by a notified body, will be assessed as „notified national technical rules“ (NNTR) by independent designated bodies.
The first austrian NNTRs were notified in 2020. The federal ministry and network operators created them to authorize putting vehicles into service. Arsenal Race is at your service with extensive know-how and longtime experience as independent inspection body. In response to the new requirments we have extended our services and are now also offering assessments according to NNTRs including the necessary certificates.
The certification program for the Designated Body in Austria is module decision 2010/713/EU.
